I’ve been building a similar system for myself — experimenting and testing out diets; but reading this everything clicked! In hindsight, it looks so damn obvious, but well, for the past 3 months I’ve been testing out only the low carb, high fat and high carb, low fat variant; neither of which worked well enough.
I was about to start experiment based on the % of processed food in my diet — but I now see the missing piece might have been the moderate diet.
This is the difference between an experienced trainer like you who has worked with lots of people, and me with my single datapoint.
